Jesus Christ Saves Global Outreach ("JCSGO," "we," "us," or "our") is the personal information controller for jcsgo.org (the "Site") under the Philippines' Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173). This policy explains, precisely and without generic filler, what information the Site collects, why, on what legal basis, and what rights you have over it. If anything here doesn't match what you actually experience on the Site, that's a bug — please tell us.
1. Information You Give Us Directly
The Site has three forms. Each asks only for what it needs to do its job, and none require you to create an account.
- Contact form (Contact Us) — name, email address, phone number (optional), the topic of your message, and your message.
- Prayer & Praise form (Contact Us) — name, email address, whether it's a prayer request, a praise report, or interest in joining a CARE Group, and your message.
- Giving report form (Giving) — name, email, phone (optional), which family celebration it's for (optional), the type and amount of your gift, which payment channel you used, a transaction reference number (optional), and an optional note. This form does not process any payment — it only records that a transfer was already made directly through your bank, GCash, or similar channel, so our finance team can match and acknowledge it.
Submissions are emailed to the relevant JCSGO team and logged as plain files on our web server — not in a public database. Those logs are blocked from direct web access and viewable only by church staff through a private, key-protected page.
2. A Note on Sensitive Information in Prayer Requests
The Data Privacy Act treats information about a person's health or religious affiliation as sensitive personal information, which is why we're calling this out on its own. When you submit a prayer request, you may voluntarily share health, family, or personal circumstances in your message — that's the nature of a prayer request, and we don't ask you to limit what you share. We treat this information with the same confidentiality our pastoral team already applies to prayer requests received any other way (in person, by phone, or by note): read only by those handling pastoral care and never disclosed for any unrelated purpose. Submitting the form is treated as your consent for our pastoral team to receive and act on what you've shared, for the purpose of praying for and following up with you.
3. Information Collected Automatically
We run a small, self-hosted analytics script to understand which pages are useful and where visitors come from. It's intentionally minimal:
- We do not use cookies, and we do not assign you any kind of visitor ID.
- We record the page you viewed, the referring site (if any), the date, your browser's user agent string, and your IP address — but with the last part of the IP address zeroed out before it's saved (for example,
103.25.14.xxx), so it can't identify your specific device. - This data is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used to build a profile of you. It's used only in aggregate, by our own team, to see traffic trends.
We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics or advertising service.
4. Content From Other Websites
Some pages embed content hosted by other companies. If you interact with these, that company's own privacy policy and cookies apply, not ours — we don't control and aren't responsible for their practices:
- YouTube (Google) — our Sunday livestream and video pages. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Facebook (Meta) — the Facebook feed on our homepage and links to our Page. See Meta's Privacy Policy.
- Google Maps — the map on our Contact page. See Google's Privacy Policy.
We only load these when you actually visit a page that uses them.
5. Our Legal Basis for Processing
Under the Data Privacy Act, we rely on:
- Your consent — for the contact, prayer, and giving-report forms, given by voluntarily filling in and submitting them.
- Legitimate interest — for the anonymized analytics described above, which we've deliberately limited (no cookies, no identifiers, IP truncated) so this interest doesn't override your privacy.
We never require you to consent to anything unrelated in order to use the Site, and reported giving data is additionally kept as part of our legitimate financial record-keeping as a nonprofit religious organization.
6. How We Use Your Information
- To respond to messages, prayer requests, and giving reports you send us
- To send you a confirmation copy of what you submitted
- To keep basic financial records of reported giving, for our church's own accounting
- To understand overall Site traffic and improve it
- To detect spam and abuse of our forms
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and no decision that legally or significantly affects you is ever made by software alone.
7. Who We Share It With
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we don't use any third-party CRM, marketing platform, or ad network. The only parties involved in handling your data are:
- Our web host, which stores the Site's files and delivers form emails on our behalf, as a processor acting on our instructions.
- JCSGO staff directly responsible for pastoral care, contact response, or finance — only to the extent their role requires it.
- Where legally required — for example, in response to a valid court order or to protect someone's safety.
8. Cross-Border Data
Our web host may store data on servers outside the Philippines, and the third-party services in Section 4 (Google, Meta) are based abroad. Where this happens, we rely on those providers' own legal safeguards for international transfers; we do not ourselves transfer your data anywhere beyond what's needed to operate the Site as described here.
9. How Long We Keep It
We keep form submissions and giving reports for as long as reasonably necessary for pastoral follow-up and our church's financial record-keeping, and anonymized analytics logs for general trend analysis. If you'd like us to delete information you've submitted, contact us and we'll take care of it, except where we're required to keep financial records for legitimate accounting purposes.
10. How We Protect It
Consistent with the Data Privacy Act's own framing, we apply:
- Organizational measures — only staff who need form/giving data for their role can access it.
- Physical measures — we don't keep physical printouts of submitted data lying around; it lives on the server described below.
- Technical measures — form submissions travel over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and stored logs sit in a server location that's blocked from direct public/web access.
That said, no method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
11. Your Rights Under the Data Privacy Act
As a data subject, you have the right to:
- Be informed that your data is being processed (this page)
- Access the information we hold about you
- Object to processing you disagree with
- Correct (rectify) inaccurate data
- Erasure or blocking of your data, subject to our legitimate record-keeping needs above
- Data portability — a copy of your data in a portable format, where technically feasible
- Damages for harm caused by a violation of your rights under the Act
- File a complaint with the National Privacy Commission (see Section 14)
To exercise any of these, just contact us — we're a small team and happy to help directly.
12. Automated Decision-Making
We don't use any form of automated decision-making, profiling, or scoring based on your data. Every message, prayer request, and giving report is read and handled by a real person.
13. Children's Privacy
Our forms are intended for use by adults on behalf of themselves or their family. We don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us and we'll remove it.
14. Filing a Complaint
If you believe we've mishandled your personal information, we'd genuinely like the chance to make it right first — please contact us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint directly with the Philippines' data protection authority, the National Privacy Commission (NPC).
15. Changes to This Policy
If we change what information we collect or how we use it, we'll update this page and change the "Last updated" date above.
